WHATS THE TEAM LIKE 

The Facility Services team keeps Calgary Airports terminals clean, safe, and functional, ensuring every space supports a smooth guest experience. They work closely with various partners across the airport including Terminal Operations, Baggage, Guest Experience, and facility planning creating strong cross functional relationships that help the operation run smoothly. If you enjoy partnering across diverse operational teams and contributing to improvements that shape how people move through and experience the airport, you’ll thrive here. 

WHAT ARE SOME OF THE RESPONSIBILITIES   

  • Provide strategic and operational leadership for facility services across Calgary International Airport and Springbank Airport. 

  • Oversee janitorial services, waste removal, recycling, pest control, window cleaning, and terminal aesthetics, including managing large vendor contracts.  

  • Lead multi-million dollar budget planning, forecasting, and financial decision making for facility operations. 

  • Develop and execute long term facility and space planning strategies that support airport operations and enhance the guest experience. 

  • Drive terminal and facility aesthetics initiatives, including seating strategies, concourse furniture planning, visual upgrades, and guest facing improvements. 

  • Advance sustainability initiatives across facility services, including waste diversion, energy efficient approaches, and environmentally responsible practices. 

  • Collaborate with cross functional partners (terminal operations, baggage, infrastructure, project delivery) to support post construction asset ownership and facility enhancements. 

  • Recruit, develop, and lead a high performing team and build future capacity as strategic plans evolve. 

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BRING

  • 8–10 years of experience in facility services or large, complex operations (airports, universities, hospitals, malls, public facilities).  

  • 3–5 years of people leadership experience overseeing experienced professionals. 

  • Bachelor’s degree in facility maintenance, business administration, construction, or a related field. Relevant professional experience may be considered in lieu of formal education. 

  • Demonstrated experience leading multimillion dollar budgets and managing large vendor/contract portfolios. 

  • Proven ability to build and execute operational strategies, including preventative maintenance and long term facility planning. 

  • Demonstrated experience leading long term facility and operational planning for large, complex environments  

  • Valid Provincial Class 5 driver’s license. 

WHAT ADDITIONAL SKILLS ARE AN ASSET 

  • Bilingual in English and Frenchproficiency in any other languages is considered an asset. 

  • Experience with CMMS software (preferably Maximo).
