The Environmental Services team is part of a passionate group committed to protecting the environment while supporting the safe and sustainable operation of our airports. They are responsible for monitoring and minimizing the environmental impact of airport operations through programs that support the airport’s Sustainability Strategy. WHAT ARE SOME OF THE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with field sampling activities, including groundwater, surface water, and soil sampling to support environmental monitoring programs.
- Support the advancement and operation of the air monitoring program.
- Contribute to the entry, review, and analysis of environmental and sustainability data to identify trends and insights.
- Support site inspections and environmental field surveys, gaining experience in real‑world environmental assessments.
- Provide on‑site support for sustainability initiatives that help advance goals outlined in Calgary Airports’ sustainability strategy.
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BRING
- We welcome applications from students who meet one of the following criteria: You must be enrolled in a post‑secondary diploma or bachelor’s program in Environmental Science, Environmental Sustainability or a related field and
(a) be registered in a co‑op work term that aligns with the term of this role, or
(b) be enrolled in a program where a work term is required to graduate.
In either case, you must be able to provide documentation and confirm that you will be returning to school after the work term is completed.

- As this position is considered safety-sensitive, candidates must successfully complete pre-employment of drug and alcohol testing as part of the hiring process.
- This role includes driving as part of its duties; therefore, candidates will be required to provide a valid Class 5 driver’s license and a current driver’s abstract as part of the hiring process.
- Coursework or applied project experience related to environmental sampling, monitoring, sustainability, or environmental data analysis.
- Experience collecting, organizing, or analyzing environmental or scientific data through labs, field courses, projects, or prior work.
WHAT ADDITIONAL SKILLS ARE AN ASSET
- Bilingual in English and French.
- Familiarity with environmental data management or analysis, including working with spreadsheets, GIS, databases, or monitoring datasets.
- Exposure to environmental monitoring programs such as water quality, soil sampling, noise, or air monitoring through academic or practical experience.
