WHAT’S THE TEAM LIKE.
The Safety, Security and Compliance team at Calgary Airports supports the safe and secure operation of the airport by maintaining clear, accurate, and up to date security documentation and procedures. Their work matters because consistent and well-maintained security manuals, reports, and job aids help ensure compliance, operational continuity, and effective day for today"s security operations. Working closely as a team, they collaborate across functions to keep security information current and reliable, directly supporting the airport’s ability to operate safely in a complex, 24/7 environment. Students are involved in meaningful documentation and process of support work that contributes to the overall success of the Security program.
WHAT ARE SOME OF THE RESPONSIBILITIES.
- Work in consultation with security subject matter experts to review, update, and maintain operational security documentation, including manuals, reports, job aids, bulletins, and other security reference materials
- Assist in ensuring security and safety documentation is accurate, current, and aligned with applicable regulations, standards, and internal requirements
- Support the organization, version control, and document management of corporate security materials to ensure consistency, traceability, and continuity
- Assist with updates to procedures and workflows, incorporating feedback from Security and operational stakeholders
- Support audit readiness and internal reviews by organizing records, tracking updates, and maintaining documentation logs
- Provide administrative support to the Security team, including document tracking, coordination of reviews, and meeting support as required
- Assist with special projects and other security related initiatives that support safe and efficient airport operations
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BRING.
- We welcome applications from students who meet one of the following criteria: You must be enrolled in a post‑secondary diploma or bachelor’s program in Security Management, Criminal Justice or a related field and
(a) be registered in a co‑op work term that aligns with the term of this role, or
(b) be enrolled in a program where a work term is required to graduate.
In either case, you must be able to provide documentation and confirm that you will be returning to school after the work term is completed.

- Proficient with Microsoft Office including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Ability to work effectively with a team as well as individually.
- Strong organizational skills as well as excellent written and verbal communication.
WHAT ADDITIONAL SKILLS ARE AN ASSET.
- Bilingual in English and French
- Experience using structured templates or checklists to complete assignments, labs, or work tasks that require accuracy (e.g., school projects, other jobs)
- Exposure to formal documents or procedures through coursework, group projects, or student employment (e.g., manuals, SOPs, guidelines, or instructions)
- Experience organizing, updating, or maintaining files, records, or documents in a school, campus, volunteer, or work environment
